Definitions
Field | Contents | SI Unit Example |
---|---|---|
MID | Material identification
number of a MAT4 Bulk Data Entry that is
temperature-dependent. No default (Integer > 0) |
|
T(K) | Identification number of a
TABLEMi or TABLEG entry
that defines temperature-dependent thermal conductivity. Default = 0 (Integer ≥ 0) |
|
T(CP) | Identification number of a
TABLEMi or TABLEG entries
that defines temperature-dependent specific heat. Default = 0 (Integer ≥ 0) |
|
T(H) | Identification number of a
TABLEMi or TABLEG entries
that defines temperature-dependent convection coefficient. Default = 0 (Integer ≥ 0) |
Comments
- The quantities defined on the MAT4 Bulk Data Entry are multiplied by the tabular function referenced by the MATT4 Bulk Data card to generate the corresponding material properties.
- If the fields are blank or zero, then constant properties defined on the MAT4 Bulk Data card are used.
- For temperature-dependent material table lookup for an element with different temperatures at each node, the average temperature of all nodes of the element is considered as reference temperature for table lookup for that particular element.
- Temperature-dependent materials can be activated at the subcase level via different options (such as TEMP(MAT), TEMP(BOTH), DLOAD (via TLOAD1, TLOAD2 and TEMP/TEMPD Bulk Data Entries), etc.) depending on the subcase type.
