This file is created by default for any nonlinear run.
File Contents
This file contains, for each nonlinear subcase, a table of the load increments,
cutback information, number of iterations for each load increment, and the values of
time increments and cutbacks and displacement results.
These displacement results pick the maximum value across all degrees of freedom, by
default. Specific Grid and degree of freedom at which displacement results should be
printed can be identified using the GRID and
DOF parameters on the NLMON Bulk Data
Entry.
File Format
The following table format is used to print the monitoring
information.Figure 1.
Name
Content
SUBCASE SID
Identification number of the Subcase for which the
information is printed.
INCREMENT
NUMBER
Identifies the load increment number.
CUTBACK
Identifies if there was a cutback at a particular
load increment.
"-"
Identifies that there is no cutback.
"C#"
Implies that a cutback occurred and “#” is a
counter for the number of cutbacks.
CONVERGED
Identifies if a particular step is converged or not.
ITER
CONT
Number of contact iterations for each load
increment.
EQUI
Number of equilibrium iterations for each load
increment.
TOTL
Total number of iterations for each load increment.
TIME
INCR
Identifies the current time/load increment.
SUBCASE TIME
Identifies the current time/load inside a subcase
(it is 0.0 at the beginning of a continued
subcase).
CURRENT TIME
Identifies the current time/load for the entire
model (continued subcases begin at the time at the
end of the previous subcase).
LOAD FACTOR
This is the load factor. It can be considered as the
subcase time normalized over the range 0.0 to
1.0.
MONITOR
DISP
Displacement output for each load increment. This
value is output in the global coordinate
system.
GRID
GRID identification number specified on the
NLMON Bulk Data Entry.
DOF
Degree of freedom specified on the
NLMON Bulk Data Entry.
