Impact Surface

Analysis > Impact Surface

This tool is used to define the rigid surface boundary condition for the drop test analysis.

Description

  1. Impact surface is the ground or surface over which the falling object impacts.
  2. Define plane is used to define the impact surface as an infinite plane.
  3. Impact surface can be defined with the following options
    • Rigid wall formulation
    • Rigid body formulation
  • Rigid wall formulation

This option is used to define the impact surface as "Rigid Wall". Only infinite plane type is supported in Rigid wall formulation.

  • Show slave nodes

Added right click option to show the slave nodes for impact surface. It is supported only for "Rigid wall formulation".

  • Rigid body formulation

The Rigid body formulation is used to define following
    • Rigid body with Quad elements.
    • Material created with specified material parameters.
    • Friction contact with s specified material parameter.
