Traction
Traction tool is used to define a uniform or varying general or shear traction load over a surface.
Description
Traction can be applied only on faces. Traction can be either General surface traction (It acts over the surface in the given direction) or Shear surface traction (It acts tangential to the surface).
- Varying traction based on spatial data (X, Y and Z) and amplitude table can be defined.
- The traction can be defined with respect to a local coordinate system.
- The direction vector defines the direction in which the traction acts.
- Turn the follow surface toggle ON if the general traction should follow the surface as it deforms or else the general traction maintains the fixed vector direction.
Note: Varying traction load and follow surface toggle options
are supported only for Abaqus.
