FE Geometry

- Connector Preferences

Shape

Realization Type

Rigid Element: A common realization for Implicit analysis that has a single node defined as the interface.

Element Type (Rigid Element)

This is the type of element the attachment creates:

RigidLink is a single RBE2
RBE2 is series of two legged RBE2s
RBE3 is a single RBE3
RBE3 (Stuck Node) is a specific Aerospace implementation of two RBE3s over the top of each other with differing DOFs

Weight Factor

The Weight Factor option is available when the element type is RBE3 or RBE3 (stuck node).

In the Abaqus profile, RBE3 and RBE3 (stuck node) realize constraint entities for which the weight factor methods are also supported.

Constant Weight: Specify a value which is going to be assigned to all nodes.
Inverse Distance: The weight factors are calculated based on the inverse of the distance between the dependent and independent node.
Normal Distribution: The weight factors are calculated based on the normal distance between the dependent and independent node.

Shape

Box: You define the length, width, and height of the box.; The shape is centered on the attachment.
Cylinder: You define the radius, height, and normal of the cylinder.; The top of the cylinder is centered on the attachment.
Sphere: You define the radius of the sphere.; The shape is centered on the attachment.
