Realization Type
- Rigid Element
- A common realization for Implicit analysis that has a single node defined as the interface.
- Rigid Patch
- A common realization for Explicit analysis that has a meshed patch defined as the interface.
Element Type (Rigid Element)
This is the type of element the attachment creates:
- RigidLink is a single RBE2
- RBE2 is series of two legged RBE2s
- RBE3 is a single RBE3
- RBE3 (Stuck Node) is a specific Aerospace implementation of two RBE3s over the top of each other with differing DOFs
Weight Factor
The Weight Factor option is available when the element type is RBE3 or RBE3 (stuck node).
In the Abaqus profile, RBE3 and RBE3 (stuck node) realize
constraint entities for which the weight factor methods are also supported.
- Constant Weight
- Specify a value which is going to be assigned to all nodes.
- Inverse Distance
- The weight factors are calculated based on the inverse of the distance between the dependent and independent node.
- Normal Distribution
- The weight factors are calculated based on the normal distance between the dependent and independent node.

Duplicate Elements (Rigid Patch)
Whether the attachment will generate duplicate elements or move the elements into the attachment definition.
Create Elements (Rigid Patch)
Only available in OptiStruct, it will create a set instead of the patch elements.
