Align Motor Components

Advanced > Electromagnetics > Organize > Align Motor Components

This tool adjusts the angular position of the motor components to align its direct or quadrature axis with any one of the global axes, depending on the reference input. This tool works on mesh bodies and Parasolid models imported using the 'Save geometry in database' option.

Reference bodies / faces

Select the magnet or its slot faces as reference entities for aligning the rotor and the stator tooth faces as reference entities for aligning the stator.

Input bodies

Select all the motor components that need to be aligned.

Align motor center axis to global Z-axis

If the motor's center axis is in an arbitrary plane instead of a global axis, the motor components get oriented to the global Z-axis.

Example

Align Rotor

In this case, it aligns the direct axis of rotor components to the global axis (X-axis) by using the two magnets forming a pole as the reference inputs, as shown below.

Align Stator

In this example,the direct axis of stator components aligns with the global axis (X-axis) based on the provided stator tooth faces, as shown below.
