Create Mid Wire
Introduction
This tool extracts mid-wire from winding coils. With the extracted wire body, the user can use the Export Coil Points tool to export the point coordinates for the Non-Meshed Coil. This tool supports both CAD and mesh bodies.
- Input bodies
Select all the coil bodies as input.
- End faces
Select the planar faces at both ends of the coils.
- Mesh size
It defines the appropriate element size for extracting the wire. Then, a relaxation or refinement process is applied to ensure better geometry representation based on the input curvature angle.
- Curvature angle between nodes
This option refines the seed nodes within the curved region and disregards the smooth nodes. It calculates the angle between each node and its neighbouring nodes, and if this angle is below the given value, those nodes get excluded. A smaller curvature angle can result in a more precise approximation of the given coil but at the expense of generating more nodes and consequently prolonging the computational process.
- Create mid-wire for the instances
Turn on this toggle to extract the mid-wire for all the instances.
- Delete input bodies / Suppress input bodies
Turn on this toggle to delete or suppress the base bodies that got processed.
