Circuit Designer: Introduction
Introduction
The circuit designer is a dedicated ribbon for coupling the FEM objects to circuit
components and to run FEM-circuit electromagnetic analysis for transient or steady
state applications. The FEM - circuit coupling allows, for example, the simulation
of:
- a D.C. electrical machine with commutator and the supplying circuit of the machine winding
- a variable reluctance electrical machine whose coils are supplied by a chopper
- a transformer with the primary winding connected to a supplying network and the secondary winding connected to a load circuit
- many more ...
Note: As of SimLab 2023 the circuit designer ribbon has been
introduced for :
- Transient Magnetic 2D solution
- Transient Magnetic 3D solution
- Magnetic AC 3D solution
- Supplied Conductors AC solution
Note: Only one circuit per solution, so it is possible to have
an electric circuit created either by the Circuit
Designer or by the Circuit
Catalog.
Environment

Import Circuit
This option is used to import the circuit file(*.scm) by right click on Load and Constraints.
Export Circuit
This option is used to export the circuit (*.scm) by right click on circuit in browser.
Export to Catalog
This option is used to export the circuit details as catalog format i.e., it saves the *.scm file, preview image, circuit property file in a folder.
