Thin Solid
Thin Solid is used when the thickness of the solid is small and is inconvenient to model it physically. User can select the faces and define the number of layers and the materials. These shell elements are used for temperature field only.
- Select faces
Select the faces on which a thin solid need to be created.
- Add Layer and Delete Layer
Additional layers can be created/removed using these options.
Additional layers of different materials and different thicknesses can be specified as shown below:
Thermal Boundary Conditions on Thin Solid
For solutions with a Thin Solid condition, select faces in Wall panel has additional support for conveniently viewing and selecting the Thin Solid faces. These can be viewed by clicking the thin solid icon in the wall panel.
Solar Radiation Boundary Conditions
Solar radiation boundary conditions can be defined on Thin Solid surface by clicking on the thin solid icon in the panel.
