Heat Source

Analysis > Heat Source

This option is used to specify the heat source on one or more bodies.

  • Select bodies

Select the bodies to define a heat source.

  • Heat Source can be defined in one of the three different ways
    1. Heat source density: This option can be used if the constant heat source per unit volume is available for the problem. For example, in MKS units it will be W/m3.
    2. Heat source on each body: This option can be used if the constant value of heat source is available. For example, in MKS units it will be Watts.
    3. Distributed heat source density table: This option can be used to specify varying volumetric heat source density with respect to the coordinate using a table with curve-fit values. The table can be specified or imported using the Create button in the panel.

  • Multiplier Function

The multiplier function can be used to provide inputs that vary with time.

Note: The total heat source contribution can be checked using the Solution browser | Heat source (Right click).
