Interface Surface
This panel is used to specify the interface surface between 2 bodies with a non-conformal mesh. Interface surfaces are used to connect pairs of elements that share (approximately) the same surface but are not conformal. That is, the corresponding element faces are not node-on-node but are in "contact". In SimLab, the Interface surface can be defined using either Body or Face option.
- Defining Interface Surface using Body
- Select Bodies
Select the bodies between which the interface surface needs to be created.
- Tolerance
Enter the tolerance for the faces between the 2 bodies. When the 2 bodies are selected, the tolerance auto-populates to a default value.
- Select Bodies
- Defining Interface Surface using Face
- Select faces
Select the faces between which the interface surface needs to be created.
- Tolerance
Enter the tolerance for the faces between the 2 faces. When the 2 faces are selected, the tolerance does not auto-populate to a default value.
- Display Interface Faces
This option can be used to display the interface faces before the application of the boundary condition.
