The Membrane mesh option is used to create a layer of membrane elements (Tri3 or Quad4) at the inner bearing surface.

The Membrane mesh tool also has option to,

• Specify starting node Id.
• Create membrane property.
• Create abaqus contact between membrane surface and bearing surface.
• Create a node set of the nodes in the membrane body.
