Stress Gradient

Stress Gradient will export the stress variation between element face nodes of Hex Elements.

Select the faces(containing Hex elements) for which stress gradient has to be calculated and click the apply button. It finds hex elements connected with selected face and get the nodes of hex and writes out the stress gradient value of 10 stress components (Normal X, Normal Y, Normal Z, Shear XY, Shear YZ, Shear ZX, Max Principal, Min Principal, Mid Principal and VonMises).

Methodology

Normal Stress Gradient @ Node N1 = (Normal stress at N1 - Normal stress at N5) / (Distance between Node N1 and N5).
