Super Position

Select the load cases for which you want to combine the results, and enter the multiplication factor value. The default factor value is 1.0. User can also change the value.

"Total Strain (E) - Thermal Strain (THE)"

This option will enable if only the abaqus results imported, it will subtract the thermal strain data from the total strain and stored as separate results component in selected load cases.

Select all loadcases

This option to select all the load cases listed in the dialog.

After selecting the load case, enter the combined load case name in Name edit box and click OK button.

Note: The combined Load case results will be displayed in the results tree view under “Derived Results”.

Extreme Values

Minimum / Maximum

It is used to derive minimum/maximum of the selected loadcases/loadsteps results and the derived results will be created as a separate load case (in the specified name).

Envelope

This option will take the maximum result value from the selected load case and plot the contour. Derived results will be created as a separate load case (in the specified name).

Remove Thermal Displacement

This tool is used to remove the displacement values in existing loadcase from the selected thermal loadcase.

Select a thermal step and click OK, it will subtract the thermal displacement in each loadcase and update the displacement in the existing loadcase.

Combine Loadcase

This option is to create a new transient load case by combining multiple load cases. The created derived results will list all the time steps of the selected load cases. The derived results will be created as a separate load case (in the specified name).

Per Cycle

For this option, the user has to select the time steps t1, t2,.. from the simulation time steps. The load step corresponding to the start of each cycle has to be selected.

This option creates a new load case and computes results by using the mathematical expression shown below,

The 2D plot is supported to plot the curve where the increase of creep strain has been plotted for each cycle. In the graph below, creep strain vs time has been plotted for two elements.

Derived Results in Solution Browser

The derived results that have been created are listed in the solution browser under the active results solution.

The following options are supported for Derived Results.
  1. Create
  2. Delete

Create

This option opens the derived results dialog for creating new derived results.

Delete

This option deletes all the derived results that have been created.

Modify Support for the Created Derived Results

The following operations are supported to modify the derived results.

Display

This option will display the selected derived results and it is synchronized with the results panel.

Rename

This option is used to rename the selected derived results.

Delete

This option is used to delete the selected derived results.

Modify

Double-click on the derived results entity from the solution browser. This action will open the derived results dialog in modify mode. Make the necessary changes to the values and then click on “Update” to modify the derived results.
