Result Request

Analysis > Options > Solution Settings > Result Request

Introduction

The Result Request function has been added for Electro Magnetic solutions:

  • Magneto static 2D (MS2D)
  • Magneto static 3D (MS3D)
  • Magneto static integral 3D (MSIM)
  • Transient Magnetic 2D (MT2D)
  • Transient Magnetic 3D (MT2D)
  • Magnetic AC 2D (MAC2D)
  • Magnetic AC 3D (MAC3D)
  • Parasitics Extraction (PE)
  • Supplied Conductors AC (SCAC)
Note: No Result Request for Electrostatics solution.

The Result Request allows the user to select the list of global quantities that he wants to postprocess in function of another parameter (position, time…).

Note: Result Request entity exists by default in the solution. Some quantities are checked by default. It is possible to change the quantities to post process by clicking on the Result Request button or by editing the existing entity in the solution datatree (in Settings).

List of Result Request for EM Solutions

By default, the predefined quantities of the motion are displayed (and cannot be modified), and the user has the choice to add or remove the other quantities. The list of these proposed quantities is in this dedicated GUI and depends on the studied solution (MS2D, MS3D, MT2D...).

Note: ** For SCAC solution, there are no circuit information in the Result request dialog box, but some results are automatically computed and available for the postprocessing after to solve:
  • Current and Voltage for available components ( Current and Voltage Sources, Resistor, Inductor, Capacitor, Solid Conductor)
  • Joule losses for Solid Conductor component and Thin Region

RMS/Max for Voltage, Current and Flux Results

The RMS/Max option allows to select the type of output for curve, EM Response and contour/vector results.
  • If RMS is selected:

The Current, Voltage and Magnetic Flux for all components will be in RMS format and will be named Current_Module_RMS_<Component Name>, Voltage_Module_RMS_<Component Name> and Flux_Module_RMS_<Component Name> respectively.

The contour/vector results for J and B quantities will be in RMS values as well.

  • If Max is selected:

The Current, Voltage and Magnetic Flux for all components will be in Max format and will be named Current_Module_Max_<Component Name>, Voltage_Module_Max_<Component Name> and Flux_Module_Max_<Component Name> respectively.

The contour/vector results for J and B quantities will be in Max values as well.

Note: The Joule losses will remain the same for both RMS and Max cases. They are computed using the RMS value of the current.
