EDEM allows you to create and define flexible
fiber/materials.
To import custom particle shapes:
Select Import Custom Particle Shape to select a CAD Geometry to import as a particle shape.
Select Size Distribution to modify the particle size by
changing the size distribution.
Note: When you select Calculate
Properties, the particle shape will be assessed and centered based
on the center of mass. The Solve Report will also provide additional information on
the number of vertices and triangles in the mesh and whether the shape of the
particle is Concave or Convex. If a particle is Concave, then the simulation
performance will be reduced as additional calculations are required to ensure all
contacts are captured correctly.
