View Parts Ranked by Amplitude

Show a list of parts ranked by movement amplitude.

This process will help isolate parts with maximum motion in the assembly. It can be also used to help diagnose connection problems in large assemblies because insufficiently connected parts tend to have the largest motion.

  1. In the Project Tree, expand the Modal analysis branch.
  2. Select > Displacement Magnitude.
    A Frequency (Hz) dialog will be displayed.
  3. In the dialog, click the (Parts ranked by amplitude) button.
    This will show a dialog with parts sorted from most to least by movement amplitude.
  4. Analyze part movement.
    1. Select parts to highlight them in the modeling window.
    2. In the Legend window, click the (Start animation) button to view how the part is moving.
    3. In the Parts ranked by amplitude dialog, you can suppress or delete parts with movement.
  5. Close the dialog.
