Connect
Description
SimLab enable the user to model the head and thread RBEs separately. This tool allows to connect the head and thread. User can select the automation objects(Head/Thread) from the LBC tree view to connect the head and thread. There are different connections for different configuration of head and thread.
Set environment variable "set SL_CREATE_1D_BOLT_USING_TEMPLATES=true" to enable "Template" option. User can define connector definition without selecting any head/thread. All the input given will be stored as template for connector definition and will be listed under "Automation Object" in "Loads and Constraints" browser. This template can be further used in 1d bolt creation.

Connection: Equivalence
Input- Head: Head LBC object of any type
- Thread: Thread LBC object of any type
The closest master node of RBEs between the head and thread will be equivalence.

Connection: Bar-Through
Input- Head: Head LBC object of type top and bottom RBE without bar
- Thread: Head LBC object of type top and bottom RBE without bar
The master nodes of top RBE of head and the bottom RBE of thread are connected by a bar element. The master nodes of RBEs at the interface will get equivalence.

Connection: Bar-Threaded
Input- Head: Head LBC object of type top and bottom RBE without bar
- Thread: Thread LBC object of type top and bottom RBE without bar
The master node of top RBE of head and the bottom RBEs of thread are connected the 2 bar elements. The master nodes of RBEs at the interface will get equivalence.

Connection : RBAR
Input- Head: Head LBC object of any type
- Thread: Thread LBC object of any type
The closest master node of RBEs between the head and thread will be connected by a RBAR.

Connection : Pretension-Through
Input- Head: Head LBC object of type top alone
- Thread: Head LBC object of type bottom RBE alone
The master node of top RBE of head and the bottom RBE of thread are equivalence to the end node of bar elements. There will be 3 bar elements connecting the head and thread. It will also create a pretension force.

Connection: Pretension-Threaded
Input- Head: Head LBC object of type top alone
- Thread: Thread LBC object of type bottom RBE alone or tab and bottom RBE without bar
The master node of top RBE of head and the bottom RBE of thread are equivalence to the end node of bar elements. There will be 3 bar elements connecting the head and thread. It will also create a pretension force.

Connection: Iso Spring
Input- Head: Head LBC object of any type
- Thread: Thread LBC object of any type
The closest master node of RBEs between the head and thread will be connected by Iso Spring.
Connection: Spring Damper
Input- Head: Head LBC object of any type
- Thread: Thread LBC object of any type
The closest master node of RBEs between the head and thread will be connected by spring damper.
