Bolt - Head
Description
A bolt is modelled as 2 parts, the head and the tail. The head portion can be modelled in one of several ways. This dialog box shows the different options as pictures. Commonly the head part of the bolt consists of top and bottom RBE connected by a bar. To create the head part of the bolt, the bolt holes have to be identified. This can be done by manually selecting single edge on top and bottom of the holes. This is referred to as Edge Based. At a time more than one set of top and bottom edges can be selected to create multiple head RBE. It is possible that a model can have a lot of bolts and it makes it difficult to manually pick each of the edges to model the bolt head. So another option is provided to model bolt heads on all the holes on a face. For this the user has to select a face. In addition the user also has to specify the Min and Max Diameter so that the head RBEs will be created for the bolt holes within this range of diameter. For this behaviour the user has to select the option Face Based.
User can define bolt-head definition without selecting any edges/faces using template option. All the input given will be stored as template for bolt-head definition and will be listed under "Automation Object" in "Loads and Constraints" browser. This template can be further used in 1d bolt creation.
