- Set Tryout Preferences

- Define the Blank
  Define the blank in the tool set including the blank type, material, roll direction, and symmetry planes as required.

  - Gravity
    Analyze the degree of sagging that the blank incurrs from its own weight on the tool.

    Simulate crash forming where the blank is situated between a top and bottom die without the use of binders or pads to hold the blank in place.

Add a Trim Operation

Cut away excess material from a formed shape.

The Trim operation includes trim, pierce, and lance tools. The trim tool cuts excess material from the perimeter of a formed shape; the pierce tool cuts material from the interior of a formed shape. The lance tool cuts a slit in the formed shape.

From the Tryout ribbon, click the Add operation icon.
From the Add Operation window that appears, select Trim.

The Trim operation is added to the ribbon.
Configure the tools for the Trim operation.
