Define the Draw Direction

Define the direction for the top die or press slide to move in the model.

After adding a forming operation, the direction arrow appears for you to define the draw direction.
  1. Double-click the draw-direction arrow.

  2. Select from the options on the microdialog to change the draw direction.
Tip: Use the legend to monitor the undercut draft angle. Avoid orientations of the model with many red areas. Yellow areas have a passable draft angle.
Note: Custom views Draw-Top, Draw-Front, and Draw-Right are created for every operation relative to the draw direction so that you can quickly navigate between those views. They are updated automatically whenever there is a change to the draw direction.
Draw-Top The view looking from the top along the draw direction
Draw-Front The view from the Front

The Front is decided based on the right hand coordinate system with the thumb pointing in the draw direction. The middle finger gives the direction of view from Front to Back.

    Draw-Right

    The view from the Right

The Right is decided based on the right hand coordinate system with the thumb pointing in the draw direction. The index finger gives the direction of view from Right to Left.

Note: Defining a draw direction creates a system. It is updated automatically whenever there is a change to the draw direction.
