File Menu
Introduction
File menu provides many options related to standard SimLab file creation, Open, Save, Import and Export capabilities, image capture, video recording, and access to Help documents. SimLab main database has ".slb" extension. This is a binary file. When we activate SimLab from the desktop icon, it automatically creates a new file "DataBase 1.slb".

New
This option is used to create a new SimLab database.Open
This is used to open an existing SimLab database with *.slb a extension.Import
Imports CAD and FEM models into SimLab from external files. Refer the following link about the details of Import Options.Catalog
It is a collection of libraries that contains standard template files or custom Python scripts, which can be stored and reused. This provides the simplest way to represent libraries in a single interface.

Extensions
This option is used to connect Simlab to various other Altair products like Inspire, Inspire Studio and SimSolid.

Product Data Management
You can integrate SimLab with your PDM system and add a repository before you can open or save files.

Export
Exports write out the CAD and FEM model as a external file from SimLab. Refer the following link about the details of Export Options.Save
It saves the current database with same name.Save As
It saves the current database with different names.Camera
This option is used to capture the current document view.Close

This option contains help, learning center and FAQs for SimLab options, build version,function usage log and copy right information.Preference
