Auto Mesh

Auto mesh tool provides a one-click solution to generate the mesh for Injection molding analysis.

The mold parts must be classified before using the Auto mesh tool. It is supported only for Parasolid models. The overlaps and intersections between the parasolid bodies are automatically handled such that the "Mold Part" is given a higher priority. Care must be taken such that the gap between the bodies are avoided.

Mesh size

Auto mesh size

The mesh size for each body is automatically computed based on the number of layers.

Average mesh size

The Average mesh size is the average element edge length for Tri elements. The element edge length will vary between (Average Element Size)*Sqrt(2) and (Average Element Size)/Sqrt(2).

Body mesh control

Auto mesh tool respects body mesh controls. Using body mesh control, each body could be assigned with a different mesh size.

Number of layers

The number of layers specifies the minimum number of layers of elements desired along the thickness of the part. This takes care of both surface TRI layers as well as Tet solid layers.

Create surface mesh only

By default, the auto mesh tool generates the Surface TRI mesh followed by Solid Tet mesh. This option is used to generate only the surface mesh.

Average/Minimum size factor

This factor is used to control the minimum element size of the mesh.
