Classify Parts
Description
Molding solver requires, components to be classified under the following subassemblies:
- PolymerPart
- Gate
- Runners
- Sprue
- HotRunner
- MoldPlates
- MoldInsert
- PartInsert
Auto Classify Mold Parts
Auto classification of mold parts is used to classify the mold components automatically.In addition to the classification, it will create the required BCs to solve that solution.
Based on the selected injection faces, the polymer and mold components are automatically classified into any one of the following combination of parts.
- Sprue, Runner, Gate and PolymerParts
- Sprue, Multiple Runners, Gate and PolymerParts
- Runners, Gate and PolymerParts
- Gate and PolymerParts
Auto BC creation
- Injection Control Unit.
- Initial Temperature
- Convection
Classify Parts
When "Auto Classification" fails, user can manually classify the parts using this option. Select the body and click on the corresponding part type. This will create the sub assembly and add that body to the subassembly.
As part of the manual classification, it creates the corresponding BCs for the selected bodies.
PolymerPart / Gate / Runner / Sprue
It classifies the selected bodies, and it creates the convection BC for the outer surfaces of the selected Polymer bodies using the given Temperature and Heat transfer coefficient.
HotRunner
It classifies the selected bodies as “HotRunner”, and it creates the HotRunner Heater BC for the outer surfaces of the selected bodies and Valve Controller BC for the shared surfaces of the selected bodies.
MoldPlates / MoldInsert / PartInsert
It classifies the selected bodies, and it creates the Contact BC for the contact faces between the polymer and Mold bodies and convection BC for the outer surfaces of the selected Mold bodies using the given Temperature and Heat transfer coefficient.
The classified parts such as Polymer part,Gate,Runner and Sprue are displayed in standards colors as shown in the image below.
