Description

This is used to create a revolved body.

  1. Solid body are created when a face is revolved.
  2. Faces are created when an edge is revolved.
  3. Edges are created when a vertex is revolved.
Note: Basic option in revolve is supported for both FEM and CAD Parasolid bodies.

Basic

This option is used to revolve faces or edges or vertices along the axis for a specified angle. If the specified angle is 360 deg., the output faces are scribed into two or four based on the number of layers. Four scribe lines are created when the number of layers is multiples of four, else two scribe lines are created.

  • Guide edge

If guide edge is given as input, the mesh on the edge acts as guide for the revolved layers. Supported only for face input.

  • Avoid spider wedge along axis

It will create hex elements along the axis instead of wedge elements.

Between Entities

This option is used to revolve one set of entities to another set. Both entities should have the same mesh patterns. An arrow will be displayed at both First and Second entities. This specifies the direction to map the mesh between the two set of entities. The arrows should point in the same direction, otherwise use Flip Direction to correct it. Similarly the start point of the arrows should match, if not pick the corresponding matching point (node or vertex) on the Second entities.

  • Guide edge

This option is supported only for face input. If guide edge is given as input, the mesh on the edge acts as guide for the revolved layers.

Upto Surface

This is used to revolve faces up to the limit faces along the axis.

  • Number of limit faces

User can specify the number of limit face layers. The Limit Face ID table list rows for the specified number of limit face layers. Click on each row and select the limit faces for that layer. You will get a revolved body for each layer.
