ECAD Detailed Modeling
Description
This tool facilitates the creation of conformal meshes for various layers of PCBs and 3D ICs. It enables connections within individual layers as well as across multiple layers. The tool supports multiple element types, including Tet4 and Hex8.
PCB Bodies
Select all the PCB/3D IC layer bodies.
Average element size
Defines the average element edge length for the mesh on the surfaces.
Minimum element size
The mesh will have no elements with an edge length smaller than the minimum element size
Tolerance
Specify the tolerance value to connect.
Element Type
Select the element type from Tet or Hex/Wedge
Hex connection type
Select the connection type that is required.
Within layers – It establishes connections between metal and dielectric bodies within each layer.
Within and across layers - It establishes connections between metal and dielectric bodies within each layer and across all layers.
Meshing approach
Choose the meshing approach from the available options. This option will be enabled only when ‘Within layers’ option is selected.
Region Mesh Control
Users can create a detailed mesh for a selective region using Mesh Controls > Region > Cuboid.
