FE Geometry
FE geometry is topology on top of mesh, meaning CAD and mesh exist as a single entity. The purpose of FE geometry is to add vertices, edges, surfaces, and solids on FE models which have no CAD geometry.

Overlay Representations

Use the Overlay tool to superimpose a second representation as overlay onto the current (session's) representation and inspect their differences.

Use the Overlay tool to load any representation from session or library for geometry comparison with current representation.

From the Assembly ribbon, click the Overlay tool.

A guide bar opens.
Select the part(s) on which the overlay will be applied.
From the guide bar, click .
The Overlay Representations dialog opens.
Select the representation to load from the session or library and click OK.
Review your part.
Optional: From the guide bar, click and adjust the Geometry Visualization and Transparency to personalize your overlay view.
Delete any unnecessary overlay by selecting a part and clicking on the guide bar.
