Manage Subsystems

A subsystem is a CAE representation of a self-contained assembly or group of assemblies within a larger system model. For example, the body, a seat, the suspension, and the center console each make up a subsystem within a full vehicle simulation.

The Subsystem Browser allows you to organize the model into manageable subsystems to aid model management. Furthermore, it takes existing include modeling practices utilizing includes and extends it to provide representation, revision, and configuration management. Subsystem connections can be automatically managed controlled using Attachments and Connectors.

Following the model build and assembly best practices, use the Part Browser to go from CAD to CAE a model of subsystem. Then, use the Subsystem Browser to create subsystems and assemble a system-level model.
