2D curve: definition (structure)

Definition

The entity 2D curve ( path/ I/O parameter ) is defined by:

  • a name and a comment (optional)
  • a quantity on the abscissa:
    • a path (2D curve : path)
    • a variable quantity (2D curve : I/O parameter)
  • One or more quantities on the ordinates

Name

The user gives the name permitting the identification of the 2D curve during its creation.

A comment (optional) can be added to the name.

Types of 2D curves

The proposed 2D curves types and the characteristics necessary for their description are presented in the tables below.

Type Description
Axes of abscissas Axes of ordinates
2D Curve (path) path Local quantities
2D Curve (I/O parameter) I/O parameter or time I/O parameters / sensors

Particular quantities

The particular quantities calculated on the elementary curves are the following ones:

  • The minimum and maximum values
  • The average values: arithmetic average, redressed average, quadratic average

  • Integral of the curve
