Since version 2026, Flux 3D and Flux PEEC are no longer available.
Please use SimLab to create a new 3D project or to import an existing Flux 3D project.
Please use SimLab to create a new PEEC project (not possible to import an existing Flux PEEC project).
/!\ Documentation updates are in progress – some mentions of 3D may still appear.
Geometry / mesh import: principles
The impact of removal of Modeler and CAD import/export is mainly for Flux 3D (which is also removed in Flux 2026), but also for Flux 2D. Flux 2D is still accessible in Flux 2026, but CAD import/export is now not possible in Flux 2D also, except via a standards DXF import / export.
Introduction
FLUX software has the ability to communicate with other software packages and to carry out the transfer of data from CAD tools to the Finite Element (FE) analysis tools.
This chapter presents the available choices for the different processes of import with Flux:
- import of geometry starting from geometric files (Since Flux 2026, only DXF format)
- import of geometry starting from mesh files
in addition, the associated tools for simplification and repair of imported data are described
Interest (reminder)
The import of a CAD geometry file into FLUX takes into account projects possessing complex geometries (e.g. presenting twisted surfaces). These types of surfaces cannot be generated directly using the available tools in FLUX.
