Controller

Analysis > Controller

This tool regulates the input heat into a domain. It can be used in scenarios such as turning off a heater during a thermal runaway experiment or maintaining the temperature of an oven.

Description:
  • Select nodes/vertices: Specifies the nodal points in the domain where temperature is monitored.
  • Select: Defines the heat source to be regulated by the controller. Users can choose either a heat source or a wall boundary condition (BC) for control.
  • Control type: Determines the regulation method and can be set to either Upper Limit or Target Value:
    • Upper Limit: If any selected nodal point reaches this temperature, the heat source or heat flux is disabled.
    • Target Value: Maintains a specified target temperature at the selected nodal points. The heat flux or heat source is dynamically enabled and disabled to sustain the target temperature.
