Sew

Geometry > Body > Sew

Description

Sewing is supported for FEM and Parasolid Models.

  • Fem Model

The free element edges that are close enough to each other can be resolved by sewing the mesh.

Select one or more bodies from a model and click on this tool to remove the free element edges within and across the selected bodies.

    Crack fix angle

Defines the angle threshold used to determine which cracks or free edges should be stitched. This setting is especially useful in sheet body sewing operations, where it is important to avoid stitching at sharp corners that could result in invalid geometry, as illustrated below.

By specifying an appropriate angle, the system can selectively ignore narrow or acute gaps, helping to preserve geometry and prevent incorrect stitching.

  • Parasolid Model

It sews the sheet bodies together by gluing them at the edges that were found to be close enough to each other. The sewed bodies are merged into a single body. Sew is supported for models imported both with and without the "Save geometry in database" option.
