Description

This tool is used to modify the features like translating or rotating the holes and ribs. Thickness of the rib and radius of the hole can also be modified using this option. Solid body also supported.

Translate

This is used to translate the ribs/holes in a direction for given distance.

  • Define/Modify Direction

Use this to define the direction.

  • Distance

Specify the distance by which you want to move the rib/hole.

  • Select group

Use this toggle to select the face group which contains the rib/hole faces.

  • Local re-mesh

Use this toggle to re-mesh the adjacent faces.

  • Trim if intersect boundary surface

Use this toggle to resolve the intersection caused by rib/hole faces with other faces of the body while translation.

Rotate

This is used to rotate the ribs/holes about an axis by given angle.

  • Define Axis and Angle

Use this to define the axis and angle.

  • Angle

Specify the angle by which you want to rotate the rib/hole.

  • Select group

Use this toggle to select the face group which contains the rib/hole faces.

  • Local re-mesh

Use this toggle to re-mesh the adjacent faces.

Change Radius

This is used to change the radius of the hole or cylinder.

  • Radius

    Specify the new radius.

  • Change in radius

New radius will be the addition of radius entered and existing radius. E.g.,if the existing radius is 10mm and the entered radius is 5mm then the output radius will be 15mm.

  • Project mid nodes

Use this toggle if you want the mid nodes to be projected on to cylinder. This toggle is enabled only when the mesh contains Tri6 elements.

  • Local re-mesh

Use this toggle to re-mesh the adjacent faces.

Change Thickness

This is used to change the thickness of the rib.

  • Define/Modify Plane

Use this button to define a plane that passes through the middle of the rib.

  • Thickness

    Specify the thickness value.

  • Select group

Use this toggle to select the face group which contains the rib faces.

  • Local re-mesh

Use this toggle to re-mesh the adjacent faces.
