Introduction

Parasitics Extraction solution is the SimLab solution to model non-ideal behaviours of electrical interconnects and to take them into account in system-level simulations of power electronics converters.

Simulation type

Two simulations are possible:
  • S-Parameter computation to compute S-Parameter matrices
  • Impedance computation to compute the Self and Mutual Impedances
Note: The two simulation types can be switched between each other in edit mode when the port type is set to Differential.

Frequency definition

Different type of frequency definition are possible:

  • By step value

  • By step number (linear)

  • By step number (logarithmic)

  • By step list

  • By multi interval

    Click on Define, and choose different intervals with different type of variation possible.

  • By single frequency

Port definition

Two types:

  • Single-Ended: only one input face to select for the creation of the port. Its output face is virtually grounded. This type is not compatible with Impedance computation.
  • Differential: input and output face to select for the creation of a port.
