This tool is used to create a rectangular Mesh or CAD Parasolid face.
- Define Rectangle Options
- Rectangle Selection
- Left-click on the mouse and drag to define a rectangle.
- Dimensions
- In this option, specify the dimensions and X, Y, and Z – coordinates to define the rectangle.
- Define Plane
- Define a plane to create a rectangle.
- Planar Face
- Select a planar face to define a rectangle.
- 3 Nodes
- Pick three non-collinear nodes that define a plane to create a rectangle.
- 3 Vertices
- Pick three non-collinear vertices that define a plane to create a rectangle.
- Rectangle Selection
- Body Type
Users can choose CAD or Mesh body type.
- CAD
To create a Parasolid CAD body for the defined rectangle.
- Mesh
To create a mesh body for the defined rectangle.
- Element Type
Users can specify the element type as Tri3 or Quad4.
- Number of Elements/Mesh size
Users can specify the number of elements or mesh size in X and Y directions.

- Model
- Existing Model
If this toggle is ON, the rectangle face will get added to the specified existing model.
Note: For CAD (Parasolid), only models imported with the “Save geometry in database” option will get listed. - New Model
If this toggle is ON, the rectangle face will get added to the new model.
- Existing Model
- Body Name
Users can specify the body name.
Example for Define Plane option
- Define the plane, enter the mesh size values in X and Y.
- Click on Preview to view the mesh plane.
- Click on OK to create the mesh plane.
