Description

Gasket Imprint is used to imprint the Gasket Faces/Edges on the Deck Faces with matching nodes. The Imprint is supported only for mesh body. This operation modifies the mesh pattern of the Deck Faces.

Types of Imprint

Face Imprint: In Face Imprint, gasket faces are imprinted on the deck faces. The gasket faces and imprinted faces will have matching nodes.
Edge Imprint: In Edge Imprint, gasket edges are imprinted on the deck faces. The gasket edges and imprinted edges will have matching nodes.

Note: In case of Edge Imprint, a edge group by name Gasket_Imprint will be created in the group tree view and it will contain all the newly created edges.

Tolerance

Tolerance will be calculated automatically based on the average element size of the deck faces. However, the user can input the desired value.

Preserve Patterns

When this option is turned on, the mesh pattern (Matching Elements) of the Gasket Face is copied on to the Deck face. This option is supported only for Face Imprint.

Mesh Size: This option is used to remesh the affected adjacent faces with the specified mesh size. This option is supported only for Face Imprint.

Equivalence Nodes

This option is used to equivalence the nodes between the gasket face and deck face/edge.

Limitations

Supported only for deck faces with tri elements.

Gasket Faces/Edges and Deck faces should belong to same model.

Example

The input deck face, gasket faces and output are shown below. Since the Preserve Pattern toggle is ON, the gasket face mesh pattern is copied to the deck face.
