Introduction

Voltage boundary condition is used to assign constant electrical voltage to one or more faces or bodies.

Description

  • Electrical effects must be activated when using Voltage BC’s. It can be activated by Solution > Electronics Thermal Management > Include electrical effects

  • The user can select the application region by clicking on desired faces or bodies, with appropriate mouse selection control.
  • The total Voltage (in volts) will be applied evenly to all selected faces or bodies.
  • The voltage can be either constant or variable if a multiplier function is defined when creating the boundary condition.

  • There are three types of multiplier tables:
    1. Time - Multiplier value varies as a function of time.
    2. Iteration - Multiplier value varies as a function of the iteration.
    3. Sensor – Multiplier value varies based on the selected sensor output.
    4. Thermostat - Multiplier value varies based on the ON/OFF status of the selected thermostat.
