Introduction

Current BC is used to assign constant electrical current to one or more faces.

Description

  • Electrical effects co-simulation solution option must be activated when using Current BCs. It can be activated by Solution > Electronics Thermal Management > Include electrical effects

  • The user can select the application region by clicking on desired faces, with appropriate mouse selection control.
  • The total current (in amps) will be applied evenly to all selected faces.
  • Current can be either constant or variable if a multiplier table is specified during the creation of the boundary condition.

  • There are three types of multiplier tables:
    1. Time - Multiplier value varies as a function of time.
    2. Iteration - Multiplier value varies as a function of the iteration.
    3. Sensor – Multiplier value varies based on the selected sensor output.
    4. Thermostat - Multiplier value varies based on the ON/OFF status of the selected thermostat.
