Weld
Weld

This tool is used to connect weld bead and the bodies to be weld. This will create matching nodes between the weld bead and the bodies.
- Weld bodies: Bodies to be welded. If the weld bodies are very close to each other, it should be joined together and have node matching.
- Weld bead body: Weld bead to create weld connection between bodies.
- Non-weld side bead faces: Faces on the non-weld portion of bead body which has to be removed after weld. This is an optional input. This is applicable when the bead body appears to become two groups of faces after weld. In those cases, user need to select which group is non weld side for automatic deletion of unwanted weld bead faces. Select the non-weld side face which is not going to modify during weld operation.
- Create weld heat zone: The heat zone refers to a non-melted area of metal that has experienced changes in its material properties as a result of exposure to high temperatures due to welding. User can create the weld connection with or without heat zone by using this option.
- Local Re-Mesh: After creating node matching between weld bead and bodies, mesh along the bead faces can be remeshed by selecting "Local Re-mesh" option and specifying the mesh size. Mesh transition around the welds can be modified by changing the grade factor.
Example: Non-weld side bead faces
Example: Weld without heat zone - concave weld
