Introduction

This tool replaces the instances of the selected CAD body with another CAD/Mesh body. For mesh body input, the identical bodies are identified as instances and get replaced. The comparison for identical involves physical properties such as surface area, volume, and principal moment of inertia.

  • Replace with

    Select the bodies which will get replaced in the instance location. In the case of the CAD body, the input should be from the Parasolid model imported with “Save geometry in database” and without the “Lighter data structure” option.

  • Consider identical bodies as instances

    In the case of CAD body input, turn on this toggle to find the identical bodies and replace them as instances.

Example:
  • Single body

  • Bodies forming a pattern
    • It replaces a similar group of CAD bodies with the given CAD or mesh bodies.

Delete input bodies

Turn on the toggle to delete the base bodies that got replaced.

Suppress input bodies

Turn on the toggle to suppress the base bodies that got replaced.
