Power Sensor
Power sensor can be used to measure specific power responses from the surfaces of
interest. Currently this tool is supported for the following solution types.
- Direct Frequency Response
- Model Frequency Response
- E-Motor Acoustic
Description
Power Sensor can be used to measure the following output parameters;
- Equivalent radiated power: measure of the power radiated from a vibrating
surface.
The Equivalent radiated power (ERP) output of a panel is calculated, as shown in the equation below:
Where,- ERPRLF is the radiation loss factor which can be given as input for “Equivalent radiated power” panels
- ERPC is the speed of sound. The value of this parameter can be set in the solver settings under the “Acoustic Solution Control Parameters (PARAM)” section
- ERPRHO is the fluid density. The value of this parameter can be set in the solver settings under the “Acoustic Solution Control Parameters (PARAM)” section
- ngrid is the number of grids associated to the panel
- Ai is the associated area of each grid on the panel
- vi is the normal velocity of each grid on the panel
- Acoustic Power: measure of the acoustic power at far field due to a vibrating source
- Panel participation: measure of the influence that various vibrating surfaces have on a point in the far field
Note:
- Equivalent radiated power and panel participation can be measured from a body with a structural property.
- Acoustic Power can be measured from a body with a fluid or acoustic property (Shell acoustic property).
