Sound Receiver
This tool can be used to create response surfaces and response points to measure the
sound pressure at specific locations. Currently this tool is supported for the
following solution types.
- Model Frequency Response
- Direct Frequency Response
- E-Motor Acoustic
Description
- Using the Screen option, shell bodies can be given as input and sound pressure results can be viewed as a contour on the shell body.
- Using the Microphone option, sound pressure at the nodes is computed.
- By using “At nodes” option, Orphan nodes or nodes from bodies with acoustic property can be selected.
- By using “At coordinate” option, an orphan node will be created at the coordinate and sound pressure will be computed at the node.
- Using ISO standards option, sound pressure can be measured as per the
testing standard chosen. Orphan nodes and a response surface are created
around the sound source based on the ISO standard.
-
Note: The orphan nodes will act as mic. And the response surface can be used to visualize sound pressure contour.
- Currently the following ISO standards are supported:
- ISO 3745 (Spherical and hemi-spherical measurement surfaces are supported)
- ISO 3744 (only hemi-spherical measurement surface is supported for now)
- Global or a local coordinate system can be used to define the
acoustic centre and for controlling the microphone orientation.
-
Note:
- For E-Motor Acoustic solution the sound pressure will be automatically computed on the sound receiver nodes.
