Interaction

Analysis > Contact > Interaction / Analysis > Interaction

This tool is used to define the interaction properties for contact analysis.

Description

  1. The following surface behaviour types can be defined
    • None
    • No Separation
    • Pressure Overclosure - Hard
      • None
      • Penalty - Linear
      • Augmented Lagrange
    • Pressure Overclosure - Tabular
      • This option is used to define pressure-overclosure relationship.
    • Pressure Overclosure - Exponential
    • No Separation, Pressure Overclosure - Hard
      • None
      • Penalty - Linear
      • Augmented Lagrange
  2. The friction coefficient can be specified if required.
  3. The change friction option is used to change the friction properties of a surface interaction from step to step. Surface Interaction with change Friction can be included in a load case. The friction coefficient and amplitude table will be referred in change friction card (Abaqus only) in the respective step.
  4. The gap conductance is used to specify dependence of gap conductance on gap clearance/gap pressure and average surface temperature.
