Split Edge
Description
This option is used to split an element edge.
Equivalence
When node and element edge is selected and if equivalence is enabled, then the edge will be swapped with respect to the node selected and if equivalence is not enabled, then the edge is split with respect to the node selected.
Automatic
Turn ON the auto toggle to proceed the process automatically after picking the entity. Selecting a element edge will automatically split that edge.
Example
Steps
There are two ways to split an element edge.
- Select an element edge and a node. In this case we will project the node to this element edge and we will create a node at this Edge and split the element edge with respect to new node.
- Select an element edge alone. In this case the node will be created at the middle of the element edge, we will split the element edge with respect to this node.
- Finally Click ok to Split.
Note: Selected Node should not lie on the selected element edge.
At cursor location
Hovering on an element edge highlights a node position at the cursor location. On clicking, the split happens at the highlighted node position.
