Linear DE curve Model
Presentation
This model defines a D(E) law of linear behavior for an isotropic dielectric material.
Mathematical model
This model is a straight line.
The corresponding mathematical formula is written:
D(E) = ε0εrE
where :
- ε0 is the permittivity of vacuum; ε0=1.10-9/36π [F/m]
- εr is the relative permittivity of the material
The shape of the D(E) curve is given in the figure below.
Dialog box

- Open a Create Material dialog box in menu
- Choose Solid as Category field
- Choose Dielectric as Class field
- In Electrical Properties:
- Choose Linear type in DE Curve field
- Define Relative Permittivity
