Create Stress Constraint Inputs

Use the Stress Constraint tool to create a design variable based on an existing Topology Optimization stress constraint value.

Note: To create a stress constraint input, an initial Stress Constraint value must be present on the Topology Optimization design variable (DTPL).
  1. From the Design Explorer ribbon, click the Stress Constraints tool.
    Figure 1.

Stress Constraint input values can be entered in one of the following ways:

    • As a continuous range of values, where the lower and upper bounds are specified as a percentage plus or minus its nominal value.
    • As a continuous range of values, where the lower and upper bounds are specified specifically.
    • As a list of discrete values.
  2. In the microdialog, select how you would like to define the input values.
  3. Specify the lower and upper bounds or specify a list of valid discrete values.
  4. Click Create.
