Create Stamp Thickness Inputs
Use the Stamp Thickness tool to create a design variable used to consider stamped concepts in the Generative Design exploration.
Stamp thickness design variables consist of discrete values, each of which represents a valid stamp thickness to be considered in the exploration.
Note: For a Topology Optimization to consider stamped designs, a draw direction must be
defined. The stamp thickness design variable works in conjunction with the draw
design variable to consider combinations of draw directions and stamp thickness
while generating concepts. It is possible to also consider a draw direction of none.
If concepts with no draw direction are to be considered, then the stamp thickness
design variable table must contain one row with value = 0.0.

From the Design Explorer ribbon, click the
Stamp Thickness tool.
- In the microdialog, click .
- In the Design Variable Values dialog, add rows for each stamping blank thickness to consider in the exploration.
- Click OK.
- Click Create.
