Create Displacement, Rotation, Velocity, and Acceleration Responses
Use the Disps. tool to create displacement, rotation, velocity, or acceleration responses from selected nodes.
-
From the Design Explorer ribbon, click the Disps.
tool.
Figure 1.
- Use the drop-down menu on the left side of the guide bar to select the response type.
- Optional: Check the Create one response for each selected entity option.
-
Select one or more nodes.
If the option above is unchecked, selecting the first node will create a response. By default, the response will be the maximum absolute value of the displacement/rotation magnitude for the selected node(s). If the above option is checked, a response will be created for each selected node.
- Optional:
In the microdialog, select
Objective or Constraint to
simultaneously create one.
Note: You can continue to define the constraint in the microdialog.
- Optional:
Select Envelope to create an envelope response.
When Envelope is selected, the displacement value will be reported as usual for each run in the exploration. In addition, Results Explorer will contain an Envelope Response tab which will report the maximum displacement value, along with its corresponding run number, for each selected node over the entire exploration.Note: Envelope responses are only available for displacement responses.
- Make any desired modifications to the created response in the microdialog.
