Create Derived Responses
Use the Derived tool to create responses which are combination of existing responses.
Restriction: Derived responses are not available for Generative Design
explorations.

From the Design Explorer ribbon, click the Derived
tool.

The Derived Responses dialog opens. - Enter a name for the response.

Build the expression in the following ways:
- Right-click on an existing force and select Insert from the context menu.
- Select an absolute or maximum function from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the dialog then click Insert.
- Enter mathematical operators into the expression, such as +, -, *, /.
- Optional:
In the microdialog, select
Objective or Constraint to
simultaneously create one.
Note: You can continue to define the constraint in the microdialog.
- Click Create/Update.
